…and bob’s your uncle produces one of a kind pieces – light fixtures and other special items – pieces that are born from the artistry of two designers, Michael Landon and Steven Wine.
Michael Landon is a fashion designer and knit-wear specialist who consults and works with many of New York’s top interior and fashion designers. His creations have also been showcased among the works of numerous, major costume houses – companies whose creations are featured in Broadway shows and films, including those of Disney. Michael is the “soft materials” part of the team.
Steven Wine draws from his varied background as a glass blower, metal worker, carpenter, graphic artist and stylist. His ingenious use of new and unusual materials to create objects of unique style, adds a definitive “edge” to the work of this company. Steven is the “hard materials” part of the team.
The sum of Michael’s and Steven’s talents is a partnership that is capable of designing and manufacturing a limitless array of products. Creatively using, and in some case marrying, various materials such as fabric, metal, cut glass and acrylic tubing, as well as less orthodox items such as bicycle reflectors or feathers, no concept is too unusual for Steven or Michael. They bring to life nearly any idea that the client, designer, or they can conceive.
A little history….
…and bob’s your uncle was founded in 1994 as a storefront on West 22nd Street in New York City, where Steven and Michael designed, manufactured and sold their creations on site. During their five-year run as retailers, they developed a large and loyal following. Local designers, shoppers and tourists alike were captivated by their unique and bold design approach. As their business grew, their work increasingly shifted to larger, private commissions. In response to this change the company moved first to a larger work studio on 5th Avenue, forgoing the retail business, and ultimately to their current location on West 25th Street.

The creations of Michael and Steven, including chandeliers, feathered lamp shades, and hanging objects – to name a few – have been installed and are currently being enjoyed in some of the most hip and stylish restaurants and homes in cities such as New York, Miami, Chicago and Seattle to name a few. Many of their pieces have been seen in The New York Times, New York Magazine, House Beautiful and Metropolitan Home, among other notable publications.
